Dr. Mary Van Haneghan - CEO

Dr. Mary Van Haneghan brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, dedicating her career to expanding opportunities and advancing the rights of individuals with disabilities, veterans, and others facing barriers to independence.

Her career began in 1999 as a Direct Service Professional in an intermediate care facility for individuals with profound disabilities. That frontline experience gave her firsthand insight into the systemic barriers that can prevent true inclusion and sparked the passion that continues to guide her work today — ensuring every person has the opportunity to thrive in their community.

Motivated to drive broader change, Dr. Van Haneghan advanced into leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels with organizations such as The Arc and Easterseals. Over the past two decades, she has led initiatives in early intervention, workforce development, and the transition from youth to adulthood, as well as overseeing extensive donated goods and retail operations in multiple nonprofit organizations across the United States.

Dr. Van Haneghan holds degrees in business management and nonprofit leadership, along with a doctorate in education. Her academic research has focused on intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), examining historical institutional models and the impact of post-secondary education on individuals with I/DD.

CATHY METZ - CFO

Cathy's journey with Easterseals Goodwill ND, Inc. began in 2001. At that time, she owned her own company providing assistance to various businesses with utilizing and maintaining their accounting systems. ESGWND contracted Cathy to provide these services. After a few months of working with the organization, she was invited to join the Board of Directors, on which she served until 2007.

For the past 18 years, Cathy has served as the CFO for ESGWND, Inc. From 2007 to 2010, she worked part-time and, in 2010, she transitioned to full-time CFO, relocating to Bismarck, ND. In her role, Cathy has overseen all financial aspects of the organization and has been the primary point of contact for IT services. She has played a pivotal role in leading ESGWND through several major transitions, including the implementation and upgrade of payroll systems, accounting platforms, and other critical IT infrastructure. Her strategic oversight and hands-on involvement have ensured smooth integrations and improved operational efficiency across departments.

Cathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Dickinson State University. She lives in Bismarck, ND, with her husband, dog, and four cats. Cathy has two adult children.

CORI REICHENBERG - CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

Cori Reichenberg is a results-driven HR professional with over 18 years of leadership experience in human resources. She's led initiatives that have boosted organizational performance and helped build positive, people-centered workplace cultures. From navigating complex employee transitions to integrating teams during acquisitions, Cori brings clarity, compassion, and strategy to every challenge.

Her sweet spot is blending strategy with empathy-making sure HR isn't just about policies, but about people.

Cori holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Valley City State University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from the University of Mary.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and running with her two Vizslas, Lily and Sage.

Cori Reichenberg

Chris Hauge - Director Of Ecommerce, Transportation & Commodities

Chris’s connection to Easterseals began before he could even read, helping with fundraisers and telethons alongside his family. By age six, he was formally volunteering with the newly formed Easterseals Goodwill North Dakota, assisting with clothing donations and using his body weight to help compress garments into gaylords. Throughout his childhood, he continued giving his time to the organization, contributing to landscaping projects at the Mandan main office and supporting events such as Catch a Painted Pony and Herberger’s fundraisers.

At eighteen, Chris broadened his service by joining the United States Navy as an Information Technician, where he served honorably for four years. After completing his military service, he returned home and played a key role in launching the warehouse processes for ESGWND. Though he explored other career paths for a short time, he eventually returned to the organization, stepping into warehouse management.

While working, Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Cybersecurity—education that strengthened his commitment to the ESGWND mission. When the opportunity arose to expand his role to include the eCommerce department, he embraced the challenge. Since July 2023, Chris has successfully led the eCommerce and Commodities teams, helping build a profitable, mission-driven operation that reflects his lifelong dedication to service and community impact.

Morgan Foster - Director Of Residential Services

Morgan Foster brings a strong commitment to person-centered support and over a decade of leadership experience to her role as Director of Residential Services at Easterseals Goodwill ND, Inc. She first joined ESGWND in 2014 as Program Coordinator for Region VI, returned in 2019 after completing her education, advanced to Senior Program Coordinator in 2020, and stepped into her current position in 2024.

Morgan oversees regional residential offices statewide, directly supervising Program and Residential Coordinators. She ensures that services align with organizational values, meet accreditation standards, and continuously improve. Her work includes staff development, close collaboration with partner agencies, and stewardship of the organization’s Person-Centered Excellence accreditation.

Her career reflects deep roots in public health and community-based care. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry-Health Sciences, she spent four years working in chemistry labs before completing a public health project with Central Valley Health District. She later gained hands-on experience as a Direct Support Professional and Home Manager, grounding her leadership in frontline understanding.

Morgan holds a Master of Public Health and a Ph.D. in Public Health from Walden University.

Haley Nelson - Director Of Day & Vocational Services

Haley Nelson is a licensed social worker in North Dakota with a Bachelor of Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Early in her career, Haley gained hands-on experience as a Direct Support Professional, sparking her commitment to the developmental disability field.

Since joining ESGWND in 2014, Haley has advanced from Program Coordinator to Senior Program Coordinator, where she supervised staff and led initiatives to ensure service quality and regulatory compliance.

As Director of Day and Vocational Services since 2024, Haley oversees statewide programs, driving growth and innovation while maintaining excellence in compliance and accreditation. Haley is passionate about expanding access to services for people with disabilities and is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment.

Jodi Hodney - Co-Director Of Retail Services

Jodi Hodny brings more than a decade of leadership experience across multiple industries to her role as Co-Director of Retail Stores for Easterseals Goodwill North Dakota. Since joining the organization in 2011, she has grown into a statewide leadership role where she helps guide store performance, staffing, training, customer experience, and operational efficiency. Jodi is dedicated to ensuring each store supports both the mission and financial sustainability of the organization while fostering a positive and mission-driven retail culture.

Jodi’s career reflects a uniquely diverse professional path that strengthens her leadership approach. Early in her career, she served as an Assistant Buyer for a major grocery company in New York, managing vendor relationships, product selection, and inventory decisions. She later spent three years in a California dental office, gaining experience in billing, scheduling, and administrative coordination. Her background also includes three years in Human Resources with Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii, where she developed expertise in employee relations, hiring, and training. In addition, she managed a group home for two years, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting staff and residents.

While Jodi did not pursue formal higher education, her career has been shaped by hands-on experience, continuous learning, and a deep commitment to personal and professional growth. She is known for her strong work ethic, compassion, and dedication to serving both the organization and communities across North Dakota.

Jodi Hodny

Sherry Sand - Co-Director Of Retail Services

Sherry Sand began her career with Easterseals Goodwill in September 2012 as the manager of the Jamestown Goodwill store. In this role, she established a strong foundation for her future professional growth within the organization.

After demonstrating exceptional skills and dedication, Sherry advanced to the position of co-director of North Dakota Goodwill stores. She plays a significant role in developing teams across North Dakota’s six retail stores. Through her effective leadership, these teams continue to succeed and maintain consistent growth.

Throughout her tenure with Easterseals Goodwill, Sherry has remained steadfast in promoting the mission and values of the organization. She ensures that its core principles are upheld in every aspect of her work.

Sherry, who lives in Jamestown, ND with her husband Douglas, cherishes camping and spending time with her family—including their adult children, grandson, and the bonus grandchildren she feels blessed to have.
