• "Donate Movement" -Goodwill International
In 2010, Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. launched the Community Needs Program in Minot. The program is a collaborative effort between 14 community agencies serving the Minot area to provide clothing, household items and career apparel to people free of charge in the Minot area. We are always looking to increase agencies participating in the program.
Other successful partnerships include the Herberger's Goodwill Sale. This event typically takes place in September and March of each year. This past September over 4.3 million lbs. of clothing were collected nationally. Locally, we collected over 127,000 lbs. of clothing for Goodwill Retails stores in North Dakota.
The "Donate Movement" was designed by Goodwill Industries International Inc. For more than 100 years, Goodwill has been a pioneer of the "reduce, reuse, repurpose" practice.
Goodwill International partnered with Levi Strauss & Co. to launch "A Care Tag for Our Planet" in partnership with Goodwill® to keep billions of pounds of unwanted clothing out of landfills. Levi's® was the first major retailer to include messaging on product care tags encouraging people to wash in cold, line dry and donate to Goodwill.
Goodwill's vision for this new Donate icon is a universal reminder to ‘recycle' through responsible donation, helping provide opportunities for others while diverting usable items from landfills
